Supplier Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in becoming a supplier to Mwelase Group of Companies. We are committed to promoting preferential procurement and fostering the development and utilisation of BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) entities. This guide aims to provide you with a clear understanding of our approach, principles, mechanisms, and expectations regarding supplier participation and engagement.
Approach
Preferential Procurement: Our goal is to increase the volume of purchases from BBBEE entities and promote their development and utilization. This requires a change in the traditional procurement approach to align with our preferential procurement initiatives.
Measurement: As per the Mining Charter, we measure the level of procurement from BBBEE companies in terms of goods and services for the socio-economic development of mining communities.
Competitive Pricing: While we treat BBBEE compliant companies as preferred suppliers, this does not mean accepting excessively higher tender prices. All suppliers, including BBBEE compliant ones, must provide commercially competitive proposals.

Sound Commercial Principles
All transactions will be governed by sound commercial principles, including governance, quality, delivery, service, safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards.
Compliance
We conduct business only with sole proprietors, partnerships, or companies that comply with all legal requirements.
Preference for BBBEE Suppliers
BBBEE compliant companies meeting the tender requirements will be preferred over non-compliant companies, all else being equal.
